What I hold, and why

I'm Ellen Marsh, a business coach working from Epsom with clients across the UK. I decide what happens to the information described here, which in data protection language makes me the data controller. You can reach me at ellen@example.co.uk.

The enquiry form on this site is handled by Formspree, which passes your message to my email inbox. Booking a call goes through Cal.com, which holds the name, email address and anything you type into the booking notes.

I hold this because you asked me to get in touch, and because I need to run and keep track of enquiries. If we don't go on to work together I delete enquiries and booking records after twelve months.

I keep your contact details, session notes, the actions we agree, and invoices. Session notes are for me and for our work, and I keep them for as long as you're a client and for two years afterwards. Invoices and payment records I keep for six years, because HMRC requires it.

What you tell me in sessions stays between us. I don't discuss your business with other clients, and I don't use your name or your numbers as an example anywhere without asking you first, in writing.

You can ask to see what I hold about you, ask me to correct it, ask me to delete it, or ask me to stop using it. Some records I have to keep for tax purposes even after you've asked me to delete the rest, and I'll tell you which.

If you're unhappy with how I've handled your information, tell me and I'll do my best to put it right. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113.

This site sets no cookies and runs no analytics. Fonts are loaded from Google Fonts, which means Google's servers see the request your browser makes for them. My host keeps ordinary server logs for security.
